We have many styles of Shower Drain Grates, but what exactly is a Tile Insert Grate?
Basically, the top grate is designed to securely hold tile in place, which makes the drain cover almost disappear against the surrounding floor. With any linear drain the function is just as important as the form, and not all drains are created equally. In cheaper drains, water can pool around the junction between the drain channel and the outlet.
A crease is often imprinted on the drain channel after it has already been welded to the outlet pipe, so it's impossible to create a sufficient slope. With our drains the base is built with a V-shaped crease, and then it's welded to the outlet pipe with a matching V-shaped notch.
NOTE: Our drains can be installed using industry standard PVC shower pan liner, and a standard 3 piece clamping shower drain. (For example Oatey 42213). These items are NOT included with this product.
